1. Private Group Size & Guiding Ratio

Strictly private format with a maximum of 6 guests. Up to 3 certified mountain guides (Japan Mountain Guides Association or equivalent international credentials) accompany the group to uphold maximum safety standards.

2. Cancellation Policy & Weather Cancellations
Cancellation Timing Fee
7 to 3 days prior to tour date 50% of Total Fee
2 days prior to tour date / Same day 100% of Total Fee

* Cancellations notified after 18:00 JST count toward the following calendar day.
* If the operator/guide cancels the expedition prior to commencement due to severe storm or avalanche danger, the tour fee will be fully refunded (excluding bank transfer fees).

3. Lift Tickets & Incidental Ground Transport

Resort lift and gondola passes are not included in the tour fee and must be settled individually on-site. Should taxis or dedicated van retrieval be required upon drainage exit, costs are divided equally among guests.

4. Real-time Route Determination & Modifications

Routes are determined dynamically on the day based on snow conditions, wind, visibility, and group fitness. Guides reserve absolute authority to delay departure, shorten routes, or abort if safety thresholds are breached.

5. Natural Mountain Hazards & Risks

Unlike groomed resort pistes, backcountry terrain involves inherent objective risks including avalanches, crevasses, rockfalls, severe blizzards, and disorientation. Guides take all precautions but cannot guarantee complete risk immunity.

6. Incident, Rescue & Liability Protocol

In the event of injury, the guide conducts first response and summons emergency search & rescue (SAR). Search and evacuation costs incurred are the direct responsibility of the client and their insurance carrier.

7. Mandatory Mountain Rescue Insurance

All participants must hold active insurance specifically covering off-piste backcountry skiing/snowboarding, medical transport, and Search & Rescue (SAR) costs. Standard travel policies often exclude backcountry activities.

* International guests must verify prior to departure that their domestic travel insurance rider explicitly covers off-piste backcountry winter sports in Japan.

8. Final Agreement & Acceptance

By confirming booking, guests acknowledge alpine risks, agree to adhere strictly to guide safety directives, and accept cancellation policies and insurance prerequisites.
