Dog Hotel Shirahama" was newly opened in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture at the end of last year. As the name suggests, this new hotel puts dogs first.
All the spaces and facilities are designed for you and your dog to spend time together, making it truly a resort exclusively for dogs. Whether you want to take care of your dog with a doggy spa or treatment, or let him or her play in the dog run inside or outside your room, the numerous doggy-specific services make you and your pooch essentially a family. The rooms are equipped with "Robofloor," a flooring material that is easy on dogs, and "Dog Wall," made of 100% natural materials. In addition, the "QAIS-Air" deodorizer allows you to spend your time without worrying about the smells of other dogs. Of course, the resort space is fully enjoyable for humans as well, with an open-air bath with free-flowing Shirahama hot-spring water installed in all rooms.

The area is also equipped with play equipment and photo spots for dogs, so you can enjoy the area without any worries. The indoor area "Dog Run" is an indoor facility where dogs can play safely even on rainy days. The facility includes a woodchip area and a footbath for dogs, providing an environment where dogs can play just as happily as they do outdoors. The indoor area is also divided into separate areas for large dogs and medium and small dogs, providing a safe and comfortable environment for them to play.

Dog Laundry is equipped with laundry facilities exclusively for doggie beds, blankets, clothes, and toys. The dedicated washing machines and dryers are specially designed for dogs and effectively remove stains and odors that are difficult to remove with regular laundry. The laundry uses an automatic system that is easy to operate, so even first-time users can use it with ease. We also provide operation guides and staff support. In addition, we use doggie-friendly detergents and fabric softeners, so there is no need to worry about allergies or skin problems.

Do I need to submit proof of vaccination?

Yes, we will provide you with a copy of the vaccination certificates for all dogs staying with you. Please upload the vaccination certificates for all dogs staying with you to the designated form and be sure to submit them prior to your stay. Please note that we will not be able to submit the forms on site as we do not have staff on site. Please note that if you do not submit the form in advance, you will not be allowed to stay at the hotel.

Does my dog need to be caged during the flight?

In principle, we ask that your pet remain in the cage during takeoff and landing, but if certain conditions are met, your pet can be taken out of the cage while in the aircraft. Please contact us for details.

Is there a front desk?

There is no dedicated hotel check-in staff at the front desk. The hotel uses a non-personal check-in system, and the following procedure is used to guide guests into the room.
(1) Seven days prior to your stay, we will send a URL to your registered cell phone number with instructions on how to enter the hotel. Please enter your check-in number (6 digits) or registered phone number on the check-in terminal in the lobby to proceed with the check-in procedure. After completing the check-in process, the code for the door will be displayed on the tablet. *Check-in on the day of your stay will be more concise if you complete the "Advance Check-in" in the URL. *If you do not receive the information message (URL) at least 5 days in advance, please contact the facility.
